BIKE & FUN DONATION MARATHON IN FAVOUR OF SCHOOLS AND PRESCHOOLS
After the last years superior atmosphere we will offer again a cycle marathon on Saturday June 19, 2010. The grammar school Gerolstein, grammar & middle school Gerolstein, St. Matthias secondary school, Hubertus Rader Förderzentrum, preschool Lindenanlage Gerolstein, preschool Pelm and preschool Densborn will participate at the cycle marathon.
Start will be at the schoolyard of the vocational school at the Sarresdorfer Str. The 400m long circuit is completely inaccessible. Each time 50 kids devided into 4 age categories will start at the same time.

New route concept for the Eifelmarathon
The Gerolsteiner-Radsport-Festival starts on June 20th 2010 the Eifel-Marathon with an overhauled route concept. The Highlight of the event offers this year four attractive routes over 46km, 107km, 130km and 207km and will enhance the attractiveness throughout further route optimizations. The new route and altitude profiles of the Eifel-Marathon are now online!
“In my opinion this years route is the most attractive one we’ve ever had” states Hans-Peter Böffgen, head of the Gerolstein tourist information. “Participants can await impressive views over the Eifel heights and partially two climbs up the Schwarzen Mann the highest point in the Eifel region.”
The Eifel-Marathon takes place on complete closed roads. Up to 200 track marshals and about 20 bike marshals will guarantee the safety of all participants, several food stations on the route and at the finish area guarantee an optimal supply.
The starting places for individual races are limited.

Online-Registration
Now the time has come, today the online registration opens for the 5.Gerolsteiner Radsport Festival. What’s special about this event are its various and challenging races, including the Kids-Race, Single and Team Time Trial as well as the Marathon with four different distances through the unique landscape of Vulkaneifel.
All courses for this year’s event have been optimized and offer great challenges. The main race on Sunday will again be the Marathon offering you a choice of distances of 46 km, 100 km, 140 km or 200 km. All races take place on roads completely closed for traffic! Course info and altitude profiles are available as of now.
Please note that the number of participants for some of the races is limited. Make sure to reserve one of the much sought-after starting spots now!! |

Gerolsteiner-Radsport-Festival 2010 expected in September
Due to massive road constructions in Gerolstein, 2010's Gerolsteiner-Radsport-Festival is expected to take place in late summer. "At the moment, we unfortunately don't see any other way to schedule the event because at the original date in May, participants and visitors would be facing considerable obstructions," says Hans Peter Böffgen, the local organizer, about the changed schedule on which a final decision will be made on November 27, 2009. The organizer, too, sees the new schedule from an athletic point of view. "In the last couple of years we've had great weather in the late summers and, moreover, participants will be able to ride on the new road surface," says Jan Leschinski, Project Manager with Ley Events. So, conditions for 2010 could not be better. Registration for this racing bike highlight starts December 16, 2009, 12:00. |
